These lead-gray skies are always a challenge to describe colorfully. Under blank sky (“tuned to a dead TV channel”) there is a lower, wetter stratum of clouds that obscure Mt. Hood. A young deciduous tree in the near foreground, just turning slightly red for the fall, provides the only whisper of non-gray or non-green in this view
